GRASP

GRASP Mission:

Grandview Parks and Recreation is committed to creating memories and life enrichment opportunities for our diverse community through people, parks and programs. This scholarship fund helps make our programs more affordable for families in our community. GRASP allows those families in financial need to benefit from donation-based funding by reducing the cost of eligible programs up to 75%!

Overview:

Scholarship participation grew from 36 students in 2023–2024 to 56 in 2024–2025, a 36% increase.
Youth sports provide significant mental, emotional, and physical benefits, including reduced anxiety and stress, improved confidence, better overall health, and higher quality of life.
Aquatics programs are critical, as drowning is a leading cause of death for children—especially ages 1–4—and many incidents occur in home or natural water settings.
There is a strong need in Grandview, where nearly half of students qualify for free/reduced meals and many families face financial barriers to accessing sports and swim programs.
